CHICAGO.- En la noche del Partido de las Estrellas se rindió homenaje al fallecido Kobe Bryant antes del inicio del partido que marca la mitad de la temporada regular de la NBA.

Antes de que los jugadores fueran presentados, el integrante del Salón de la Fama Magic Johnson, pronunció un discurso en honor a Bryant.
Johnson dijo que “nunca veremos a otro jugador de baloncesto como Kobe”.
Agregó que Bryant “anotó 81 puntos en un partido. Anotó 60 puntos en su último partido. Y ganó cinco campeonatos de la NBA”.
Johnson dijo que “de lo que estoy realmente orgulloso cuando pensamos en Kobe Bryant, hay millones de personas en Los Ángeles que no tienen un hogar. Kobe luchaba por conseguirles casas y refugio todos los días. Le apasionaba eso”.
Indicó que “también le apasionaba ser un gran padre, esposo y cineasta. Bryant ganó un Oscar. Así que todos estamos dolidos. Este es un momento difícil para toda la familia de la NBA”.
Los asistentes al campo de juego guardaron ocho segundos de silencio en honor a Bryant, debido al número que usó en su playera al inicio de su carrera.
Mientras que Jennifer Hudson, vestida con el color morado de los Lakers, interpretó “For All We Know (We May Meet Again)” cuando las imágenes de Bryant aparecieron en una pantalla gigante.
South Side Common siguió con un rap dedicado a los grandes jugadores de la ciudad, así como a Bryant, antes de dirigir las presentaciones de los jugadores.
“Un rey llamado Kobe Bryant”, dijo Common mientras las luces de la arena iluminaban a las personas, agregó que “incluso en los momentos más oscuros, sentirás la luz de Kobe”.- EFE
