CANCÚN.- Una nueva denuncia por el abuso de los taxistas en Cancún debido a tarifas excesivas, en especial cuando trasladan pasajeros de origen extranjero, se hizo viral en redes sociales.
“Nunca más regresaré a México. Esto es una locura”, dijo un visitante extranjero en uno de los siete vídeos que publicó en TikTok por cobró excesivo de un taxista en Cancún, Quintana Roo.
Turista extranjero denuncia cobro excesivo de taxi en Cancún
Xavier Cormier, turista de origen canadiense, publicó una serie de vídeos en sus redes sociales denunciando las tarifas excesivas de un taxista en el Aeropuerto de Cancún.
En sus vídeos acusa que un taxista le cobró mil dólares por llevarlo de la terminal 4 a la 3 del Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún e intentar emprender la huida después de que el pasajero pidió llamar a la policía.
El canadiense habría solicitado el viaje a un taxi del aeropuerto con cargo a tarjeta pero se dio cuenta que la tarifa estaba en dólares, no pesos, y le estaba cobrando mil dólares, lo que equivale a 17, 120 pesos, cuando ya estaba a bordo del vehículo.

I filled a report number against the driver and the taxi airport , I believe some of the cops and security agent over there where also in the scam because they wanted me to go the police station to press charge against the driver but to only get rid of my story and all the proof I have against the scam system at the airport including Security and the Airport Taxi Company. En sus vídeos afirma que tras pedir que el taxista llame a la policía, el conductor intentó emprender la huida, con sus maletas aún dentro del auto, por lo que tuvo que saltar del taxi.

Internautas denuncian abusos de taxistas en Cancún
“Es horrible, no viajen a Cancún, me pasó lo mismo”, “las mafias de sindicatos de taxistas, por eso todo queda impune”, respondieron los internautas.
“Aunque sean 1000 pesos es muchísimo dinero para un trayecto de menos de 5 minutos”, escribió otro cuando algunos cuestionaron si el taxista pretendía cobrar mil pesos, no mil dólares, pero el turista lo malinterpretó.
En los comentarios, Xavier Cormier respondió a los cuestionamientos sobre una posible confusión pero indicó que el cobro que le hicieron fue en dólares, y dijo que de haber sido mil pesos no habría hecho una denuncia.
En sus vídeos explicó que le habrían cobrado el viaje a su tarjeta por lo que quería recuperar el dinero.
Usuarios de habla inglesa relataron que sufrieron estafas similares e incluso expusieron que habría una “mafia” de taxistas, misma acusación que han hecho cancunenses por las agresiones de taxistas contra conductores de Uber.
“Recuerdo a este tipo (el taxista) y es un equipo completo que trabajan juntos, incluyendo personas que trabajan dentro del aeropuerto. Intentan empujarte a usar a estos taxistas estafadores. Yo fui una víctima también”, escribió en inglés un usuario.
“Me pasó algo similar en el aeropuerto de Cancún, como recomendación tengan mucho cuidado allí y no escuchen a las personas que intentan venderte tickets de taxis o tours”, afirma otro.
Autoridades del aeropuerto o de Quintana Roo no han respondido a la denuncia aunque está ya pasó de TikTok a otras redes sociales como Twitter, ahora ‘X’, con usuarios mexicanos reclamando la impunidad ante la mafia de taxistas en Cancún.
Detienen a taxista por cobro excesivo a turista
Medios locales reportaron que el taxista involucrado en la denuncia del canadiense fue detenido por presunta estafa.
De acuerdo con la información preliminar, un hombre identificado como Cristian José “N”, alías “Pollo” fue detenido por elementos de la Guardia Nacional alrededor de las 22:30 horas del lunes, un día después de la denuncia hecha por el turista extranjero.
El taxista fue detenido en el Aeropuerto de Cancún, donde aún daba servicio pese a la polémica, por no acatar las indicaciones de la autoridad y por prestar servicio sin el permiso correspondiente.
El sujeto fue trasladado a las oficinas de la Policía Turística de Cancún para ser puesto a disposición ante el Juez Cívico.
Turista extranjero recupera su dinero tras intento de estafa en Cancún
Este martes la secretaria de gobierno de Quintana Roo, Cristina Torres, dio a conocer que el turista canadiense recuperó su dinero tras el presunto intento de estafa.
“Entiendo que en el momento que el turista hace la denuncia con la persona que lo trasladó en el sitio, llega apoyo de la Guardia Nacional, de la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana y logran que se devolviera el cobro al usuario”, detalló.
La funcionaria agregó que están investigando el caso, en colaboración con autoridades federales, para así tomar medidas que sancionen este tipo de conductas.
Además aseguró que se está trabajando con las instancias federales y estatales competentes y el Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) para mejorar la seguridad y la movilidad de los usuarios y visitantes en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún.
