LONDRES (AP) — Cientos de miles de manifestantes anti-Brexit abarrotaron el centro de Londres el sábado, exigiendo que el gobierno británico controlado por los conservadores realice un nuevo referendo sobre si Gran Bretaña debe de quedarse o salir de la Unión Europea.
La Marcha Electoral del Pueblo convergió en el Parlamento británico. Los manifestantes portaron banderas de la Unión Europea y carteles elogiando las viejas relaciones entre Gran Bretaña y el continente europeo.
A las manifestaciones llegaron personas de todas partes del país, decididas a obligar al gobierno de la primera ministra Theresa May a alterar su marcha hacia el Brexit.
El líder liberal demócrata Vince Cable, invitado a encabezar la marcha, dijo que la multitud era impresionante y estaba unida.

La policía no dijo cuanta gente llegó. El legislador independiente Chuka Umunna y otras personas que quieren otro referendo del Brexit calcularon que llegaron alrededor de un millón de personas.
Más de cuatro millones de personas apoyaron un pedido electrónico esta semana en favor de revocar el Artículo 50, que desató formalmente el proceso de Brexit.
